Frequently Asked Questions

See below for Terms of Service

What do I need to start a design?

I invite you to provide as much information as you would like in regards to your cover design, including:

• Plot synopsis/blurb to help decide the mood the cover needs to set.

• Colors - likes/dislikes.

• Are there any elements we need to avoid? (example: not revealing a character's facial features)

• Any images/concepts you have found that you like the look of.

Stock Images?

Stock image fees are included in the cost of your cover design.*

*This applies to standard stock images, found on most stock image sites, which do not exceed $20 each.

Size Requirements?

Unless otherwise specified, I will create your eBook with the dimensions of 1563x2500 based on Amazon's current suggestion (best quality image should be 2500 pixels on the longest side with an ideal height/width ratio of 1.6). Please let me know if you require other sizes.

What about a Paperback cover?

Createspace provides several trim size options and is the most commonly used service for paperback 'Print on Demand' covers among my authors. To get started I will need the following information:

• Trim Size

• Page count (the size of the spine depends on the number of pages, so please provide your final page count)

• Interior type - if not black and white.

• Back cover text (i.e. blurb, bio, quotes/praise)

• Author portrait image file, if desired.

Who is Torrie Cooney?

  • I began designing eBook covers in 2012... however, my passion for design & photography probably goes back to about Age 5.
  • I pride myself on being up for any design challenge. I've taken on special projects from hand-coloring vintage photos to creating a Kickstarter video.
  • Fun Fact: I based my site design around one of my favorite places to be - my home office!
